JazzCash Fraud: How to Report a Scam in Pakistan

If money has just been lost, act now

For a bank or wallet loss, contact your bank or wallet firm first, then report the cyber crime.

What is JazzCash fraud?

JazzCash fraud can include:

  • fake JazzCash call
  • fake support worker
  • OTP scam
  • MPIN theft
  • fake prize
  • fake payment
  • wallet hack
  • social media scam
  • online seller scam
  • fake buyer
  • account takeover
  • SIM scam
  • fake link
  • fake loan
  • QR fraud
  • fake payment receipt

I sent money to a scammer. What should I do?

Call JazzCash.

Give:

  • your JazzCash number
  • amount
  • date
  • time
  • transaction ID
  • number that got the funds
  • reason you think it was fraud

Ask for a complaint number.

What if my JazzCash wallet was hacked?

Tell JazzCash the wallet may be in use by someone else.

Ask them what must be blocked or reset.

Check recent transfers, bill payments, cash out, card use, and new device access.

What if I shared my JazzCash OTP?

Tell JazzCash.

JazzCash states that it will never ask for your PIN, OTP, or password.

Do not send a second code.

What if I shared my MPIN?

Treat that as a high risk event.

Contact JazzCash at once.

Ask whether the wallet should be blocked or the MPIN reset.

What proof should I save?

Save:

  • JazzCash transaction ID
  • sender number
  • receiver number
  • amount
  • date
  • time
  • app screen shots
  • SMS
  • scam chat
  • call log
  • fake ad
  • fake receipt
  • social media page
  • website link
  • voice note
  • JazzCash complaint number

What if JazzCash does not solve my complaint?

Keep the complaint number.

JazzCash points users with unresolved complaints to the SBP Sunwai Portal or Banking Mohtasib Pakistan.

Should I report the case to NCCIA too?

Yes, if the facts show cyber fraud.

NCCIA helpline: 1799.

Which law may apply?

NCCIA's financial fraud page points to sections 13 and 14 of PECA 2016.

Section 14 deals with electronic fraud.

Other PECA parts may apply if the case includes fake identity, hacked wallet, illegal access, fake digital data, or spoofing.
